Meet the Presenters
Hi, my name is Tamnhu Bui and I am a recent alumna from George Mason University! I majored in Community Health with a Clinical Concentration. I currently work as a medical assistant at a dermatology office and am planning to apply to PA school in the future. My passions and interests include going on new adventures and traveling, taking videos, and helping others! My KPL experience was a huge part of my college career as I held multiple minor board positions and even served as Program Educator last semester. From going through the process as a PNM to being PE, it felt like a full circle moment. KPL definitely made a lasting impact as I have grown close with many of my sisters and have made many accomplishments through the sorority that I have helped shaped me to the person I am today.
My name is Ngoc Huynh (Allie). I am currently a junior at George Mason University, majoring in Nursing. I am passionate about Mental Health. My interest include singing, reading, film photography. Positions I am holding at KPL include Academic Advising Chair, Banquet and UGC Representative. This is my first semester as an active sister. I experience at KPL so far has been amazing. It is still amazed me how much support and love I have from my sisters. I have definitely found a safe space where I can be myself while surrounded by such talented and kind people.
Hello, I’m Andi Motas and I recently graduated from GMU with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Art & Visual Technology. Currently I work as a big data engineer for Oracle Opower where I develop software that helps people reduce their energy usage to ultimately accelerate decarbonization. I’m passionate about tech, art, music, and making positive impacts through service. Being a part of Kappas helped me realize what I was capable of as I learned how to work closely with others and exercise leadership skills. From serving as Academic Advising Chair I explored my passion for helping others and created workshops for mental health and professional development. As Design Chair I found that I enjoy graphic design, and had the opportunity to make designs for Kappas’ national merch. Even though there were plenty of challenges I came across as a sister of KPL, as a college student, and as a woman in engineering, I wouldn’t be where I am now without those challenges and the support I received from sisters along the way.
My passion has always been raising the awareness of the strong, great Asian American Women! We need to have a voice, speak up and speak out! Along with the passion for Real Estate, my business partner and I have been speaking out about the goods, the bads in Real Estate for agents as a whole and for Asian Women in this field.
Carol Luong graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in General Biology and Shenandoah University with a Doctorate of Pharmacy and is currently a pharmacist at the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Virginia. As an active sister at GMU, she held positions of social chair, banquet chair, Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) representative, Vice President, and President of Kappa Phi Lambda and Treasurer of MGC. As an alumna, she was National Cultural Chair in 2016. She has three KPL Little Sisters from GMU, UNCC, and CMU. Her passions and interests include bottomless brunch, adding things she doesn’t need to her cart, finding new music to run to, and empowering others to their fullest potential.
